Welcome!
 
I love being a priest and I love being a Campus Minister.  It is always such a joyful and exciting privilege to welcome the new arrivals at JMU!  We are a community of students who serve the Lord through service to one another.  The Catholic population at JMU is about one third of the total student body so it is easy to join fellow Catholic students and to celebrate your faith.  We are very active in service projects, worship opportunities and social events.  Check out our calendar of events for all the details.
 
We kick things off every year with a Welcome Mass which begins at 5pm on Sunday evening, August 29 at the CCM House .  A BBQ follows immediately with food, music and volleyball.  It is a great opportunity to meet other new arrivals and to get introduced to some of the veterans as well.  We all anticipate your arrival with great enthusiasm!
 
We also have a new student retreat the following weekend.  It is a great opportunity not only to focus on the newness of life at college but also to prioritize your values and decide the kind of student you want to be.
 
One of the goals of CCM is to be a "home away from home" and many students have found it to be so.  The CCM House is conveniently located right on S. Main Street and is very comfortable to just hang out in.  Come on by and check us out.
 
There are a number of students who cut their summers short in order to be here when you arrive and welcome you with style!  Please make sure you come and meet them.  Until August, please know that you will held high in prayer and that we are all very excited about your arrival.
